STREAMTEK Cabinet Cooler for Effective Thermal Management

April 20th, 2012

Thermal management in control panels, electronic controls and other such places needs to be effective, affordable and low on maintenance. The STREAMTEK cabinet cooler offers these very advantages and more. This unit demonstrates great results in cooling electronic and electrical enclosures with filtered air that’s up to 45 degrees F cooler.

Our most popular product in this category is a cooler that produces 550 to 2,800 BTU/Hr. from a single unit. Besides, we also offer products that cater to enhanced cooling requirements.

This product was essentially developed as a smarter and better alternative to a vortex tube. The main attribute that sets our cabinet coolers apart from the vortex tubes is that these coolers have been tweaked so as to achieve maximum refrigeration that cannot be adjusted. This is an advantage over the vortex tubes that can be adjusted, increasing the risk of poor operation.

STREAMTEK customers have been using our cabinet cooler range for years, and have consistently reported satisfactory performance. Some of the most common applications include cooling of electronic controls, machining operations, soldered parts, gas samples, electronic components, and also for setting hot metals etc.

Among the distinctive highlights of this product is that our engineering team has added a built-in relief valve that exhausts hot air from the cabinet as the cooler simultaneously supplies clean and cool air.

Each of our products is designed with the intention of increasing your productive and operational excellence. And our product offerings such as the cabinet cooler, vortex tubes and air amplifier range are an extension of the same endeavor. To know which cabinet panel cooler is a perfect fit for your needs, please visit www.stream-tek.com and drop us an email or call our factory describing your needs. A STREAMTEK application engineer will respond with a recommendation for you within 12 hours.

STREAMTEK Cabinet Cooling | Explained

March 9th, 2010

If you are in need of a high quality, low cost product for cooling or purging electronic controls, machining operations or hot melts, STREAMTEK has the solution for you. Utilizing our high quality 1-piece stainless steel (Type 303) Vortex Tube, the STREAMTEK Cabinet Panel Cooler will create extremely cold air from ordinary shop compressed air.

STREAMTEK manufactures two types of Cabinet Panel Coolers. NEMA 12 (IP52) and NEMA 4/4X (IP56). While NEMA 12 is oil and dust tight it can NOT be used in environments where they may come in contact with liquids. If you require a splash resistant cooler for an outdoor environment or a wash down area, our NEMA 4/4X Cabinet Panel Cooler would be your ideal choice.

Cabinet Panel coolers offer many advantages:

* Compact and inexpensive
* No CFC’s
* Quick n’ easy to install
* Quiet
* Eliminates use of fans and filters
* No moving parts making it maintenance free
* Mounted within minutes through a standard electrical knockout

The cooling capacity of our Cabinet Panel Coolers ranges from 550 – 2800 BTU/hr per unit. We also offer Dual Panel Cooler Units from 3,600 – 5,600 BTU/hr for additional cooling.

STREAMTEK Panel Cooler – Maintenance Free

February 23rd, 2010

Why on earth would a company decide to install a compressed air operated STREAMTEK Panel Cooler instead of an air conditioner? Isn’t compressed air expensive? Yes it is, however there many advantages/benefits! Such as..

  • Low Cost
  • -If you find an advertised price and/or quote from a competitor for a similar compressed air operated panel cooler, we won’t just match it, but promise to beat is by 20%. It’s our standard everyday policy.

  • Compact, No CFC’s and installs through standard knockout within minutes
  • Virtually zero maintenance (no moving parts)
  • Stops nuisance tripping & heat damage
  • Eliminates filters & fans
  • Stabilizes the temperature/humidity within the enclosure
  • Cabinet is kept at positive pressure, therefore preventing dirt contamination
  • Concerned about the energy costs associated with running the STREAMTEK Panel Cooler? Consider our thermostat control kits (seen here) which utilize on-off control with an adjustable thermostat & solenoid valve.

    Once the desired temperature setting is reached, the thermostat will send a signal to the solenoid to close; effectively stopping the compressed air flow. Variable frequency drives in particular generate a tremendous amount of heat upon start-up, the STREAMTEK Panel Cooler is particularly effective in this application.
